Sultan Assure Traditional Leaders of Being There For Them in Times of Celebration And Grief

The Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar has assured traditional leaders of being there for them in times of celebration and grief, as a mark of unity, solidarity and commitment as enjoined by Islamic religion and tradition.

He gave the assurance when he attended the 10th year anniversary of the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Cindo Yamusa in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Sultan congratulated the Emir and urged him not to take for granted the mass turnout of Emirs, Chiefs, Diplomats, Politicians and businessmen within and outside the country, rather reciprocate the gesture through cementing the cordial relationship with his subjects, family, friends and well wishers.

The monarch seized the opportunity and appreciated the Nasarawa State Governor for his support to the traditional leaders in the State in discharging their responsibilities to their people.

He called for prayers for the leaders at all levels to succeed in their mandates and wished the celebrant many years of fruitful service to the Keffi Emirate and nation.

Emir of Keffi in his response, thanked Almighty Allah, the Nasarawa State Governor, Council of chiefs, his council and the entire people of Nasarawa State for their support.

He reflected on the moral upbringing by his late father, the 14th Emir Muhammadu Chindo Yamusa by always urging him to stay the course of acquiring sound islamic and western knowledge to succeed in life.

The traditional leader said since becoming Emir ten years ago, he had been working hard to emulate the remarkable life of his late father in mobilizing development and welfare of his Emirate, especially education in which he has so far offered over 410 scholarships to less privileged children.

Others that spoke during the event were diplomats from Poland, Portugal and Kenya.
