Tambuwal Hands Bafarawa To Bande, Hosts Guests’ For Kwabo Daughters Wedding
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state was on Friday the representative of the daughter of one of his predecessors, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, Asma’u, who married her heart throb, Aminu, son of Kebbi state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd).
Governor Tambuwal also attended the wedding Fatiha (solemnization) of the daughters of Sokoto based philanthropist and businessman, Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo A.A. (Jarman Sokoto).
The former wedding was held at the Jumu’at mosque in Sultan Maccido Institute, Sokoto, where Gov. Tambuwal who represented Bafarawa’s daughter, received her husband dowry of N100,000 from the groom’s representative, Alhaji Muhammadu Sambo Aliyu, Magajin Rafin Gwandu of Kebbi state.
Meanwhile, the latter took place at the Abu Huraira Jumu’at mosque in the compound of Kwabo, where Governor Tambuwal led his Jigawa, Kano and Niger states’ counterparts to the tying of nuptial knots between Kwabo’s daughters: Gimbiya Nabila and Gimbiya Aishatu to the sons of the Emir of Kano,
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and the erstwhile minister of agriculture: Alhaji (Dr) Aminu Ado Bayero and
Alhaji Sani Zangon Daura respectively.
At the Fatiha of Kwabo daughters, the minister of police affairs Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi stood in for President Muhammadu Buhari as father of the brides, receiving a dowry of N250,000 for each of them from their groom’s representative: Sokoto state Governor, whose deputy, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, stood in for Prince Kabir Aminu Bayero; while Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru paid on behalf of Musa Sani Zangon Daura accordingly.
The ceremony was held after the commissioning of the upgraded and remodelled Abu Huraira Jumu’at mosque within Kwabo’s compound.
In attendance at the commissioning were the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, Kwabo’s in-laws Emirs of Kano, Alhaji Dr. Aminu Ado Bayero and that of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero of Bichi
Other dignitaries were: the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Sokoto state, Mallam Saidu Umar, Deputy Governor of Kano state Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, former Governors Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states: Senator Adamu Aliero, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and Senator Ahmad Sani Yerima.
Also at the occasion were the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, former minister of Police Affairs, former Minister of Power and Steel, Engr. Bello Suleiman and Senator
Abdul Ningi.
Also present at the occasion were Emirs and traditional title holders from Yobe, Adamawa, Borno, Zaria and Zamfara as well political stalwarts and Vice Presidential candidate of Labour party, Senator Datti Baba Ahmed.
Similarly some prominentl Islamic scholars within and outside the state attended the ceremony. They include Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau of the Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’a Wa Iqamatus Sunnah, Professor Mansur Ibrahim Sokoto, Sheikh Ibrahim Daurawa, Sheikh Abdullahi Gadon Kaya, Sheikh Kabiru Muhammad Haruna Gombe among others.
