Zamfara Health Commissioner Commends Gov, Dauda Lawal For Transforming Health Sector

The Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal has been commended for transforming the entire health sector in the state.
The commendation was made by the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aisha M. Z. Anka during ground breaking ceremony of reconstruction and equipping of talata mafara ultra-modern hospital which took place today Saturday at Talatar Mafara town.
The Commissioner disclosed that since the inception of the administration of Governor Lawal and his purposeful declaration of State of Emergency in Health Sector, guided by your rescue Mission Agenda, the State Health Sector has recorded tremendous successes.
According to Dr. Anka, some of the remarkable projects by the state Governor include; provision of free ante-natal care services across the state, free hospital deliveries and distribution of Mama Kits, free emergency caesarian section and distribution of over 3Million doses of Anti-Malaria Drugs for Children under the age of 5years.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by Suleiman Isa, Information Officer of the ministry.
Other significant projects approved by the administration of Dr. Lawal include; recruitment of healthcare work force using the community based selection approach, distribution of 2 Toyota Hillux vehicles and 28 Motor cycles to HIV/AIDS and TB Program officers and distribution of essential drugs to all primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities across the state.
The Commissioner further disclosed that for the past twelve months there is no single case of circulating polio virus reported in state following the unwavering supports being offered by the state Governor to the health sector.
“Today we stand on the threshold of a new chapter in your commitment to advancing healthcare service delivery for the good people of Zamfara State and this project symbolizes not just the promise of a new facility, but a fulfillment of His Exellency’s promise to the People of Talata Mafara Local Government and its surrounding communities,” the Commissioner said.
“This new hospital will also be equipped with the State-of -the –art facilities that are designed to support the provision of a comprehensive health care; therefore the hospital, will not only address current healthcare needs, but also anticipate future demands and ensure that our communities receive the higher standard of care.” The
Commissioner assured.
