‎ ‎90,000 Kebbi Women to Benefit from Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up

‎The Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) is to engage about  90,000 women across three LGAs in Kebbi State.

‎The State Project Coordinator, Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Yauri announced this while inspecting the recruitment exercise for ward facilitators in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area. These facilitators are critical to mobilizing women for the intervention.

‎According to the coordinator, the NFWP-SU is a Federal Government initiative implemented through the Federal and State Ministries of Women Affairs. Its primary goal is to combat financial exclusion by boosting women's access to Credit, Markets, Financial literacy and Sustainable livelihoods

‎He explained that for the scale-up program, the project will focus on three key Local Government Areas (LGAs): Birnin Kebbi, Dandi, and Zuru. To reach the 90,000 target, Alhaji Yauri confirmed that 360 ward facilitators will be engaged. Each facilitator will be responsible for mobilizing between 180 and 250 women in the three benefiting LGAs.

‎The Coordinator commended the commitment of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, for providing a fair operating environment for the project to operate. He stated that this high-level support is crucial for positioning Kebbi as one of the top implementing states in Nigeria.

‎Alhaji Yauri also acknowledged the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development for ensuring the project adheres to standard operating procedures and works to achieve the set results.

‎He restated the project's commitment to aligning its work with government directives to ensure the overall benefit of women and the state.
