Kebbi Bolsters Security with Donation of 4 Operational Vehicles to MOPOL
In a continued effort to fortify internal security and protect lives and property, the Kebbi State Government has donated four brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Mobile Police (MOPOL) unit of the State Command.
The official presentation was conducted by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, on behalf of Governor Comrade Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
Speaking during the ceremony, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida emphasized that the donation is a testament to the administration's proactive stance on safety.
"This representation is a symbol of the prominence this administration places on security," the SSG stated.
"To assist manpower in our urban centers and enhance internal security, the Governor directed the release of these four vehicles to the Mobile Police Unit. They will be strategically deployed to Badariya, Ambursa, Kalgo, and Makera—areas requiring urgent security attention."
Receiving the vehicles, ACP Aliyu Abubakar Jega expressed profound gratitude to the state government. He noted that the level of support provided by Governor Idris is unprecedented compared to other regions.
"I have served in various state commands, but the level of intervention by His Excellency in addressing security challenges is quite exceptional and highly commendable," ACP Jega remarked.
"We assure the Governor that these vehicles will be utilized effectively to reduce crime, criminality, and specifically banditry to the barest minimum."
The ceremony concluded with the formal handover of keys to the MOPOL Commander, signaling an immediate boost to the unit's patrol and response capabilities across the designated areas.
