The Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education (NCAOOSCE), Dr Muhammad Sani Idris, has visited Suleymaniye Abu Hayat Almajiri School in Gwarimpa, Abuja, as part of efforts to engage institutions working to improve educational opportunities for Almajiri children.
Dr Idris was accompanied by members of the Commission’s management team during the visit.
The delegation was received by the Director of Suleymaniye Abu Hayat, Selçuk Türk, alongside members of the school’s management team.
Suleymaniye Abu Hayat is an Almajiri school with its headquarters in Abuja and branches in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto and Lagos. The institution provides an environment where Almajiri children can receive education in a structured and conducive setting.
During the visit, the delegation was taken through the school’s facilities and educational activities. The institution serves as a model that provides a conducive atmosphere for Almajiri children to learn, develop and pursue their educational goals.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Commission’s management and the school’s leadership to exchange views on the education and development of Almajiri children and on the role of institutions such as Suleymaniye Abu Hayat in addressing the country’s out-of-school challenge.
NCAOOSCE has been working to promote access to education for Almajiri and out-of-school children, with emphasis on literacy, skills acquisition and opportunities that can improve the children’s prospects for the future.
Suleymaniye Abu Hayat School has its headquarters in Abuja and operates in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Lagos and other African counties.
