The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council says it has uncovered a plot by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress to discredit its campaign flag-off in Kaduna.
In a statement by its spokesperson, Dele Alake, the council says Atiku and the ADC plan to misinform the public using fake news, artificial intelligence, deepfake videos, and counterfeit documents.
The council cites the recent circulation of a picture of a security vehicle on routine patrol near an APC billboard. It says Atiku and the ADC twisted the narrative, claiming the security agents were there to protect the billboards. The council says the story was planted in a national newspaper and shared by Atiku on social media.
