A 30-year-old man, Suleman Mamuda, has been arrested by the Police for allegedly killing his wife, Umaima Maidawa, aged 25, in Bayawa Village, Augie.
The incident occurred on 13th January, 2026, at about 0630HRS. The suspect reportedly used the wooden handle of a hoe to strike his wife, resulting in her death. He later fled the area but was traced and arrested following police investigation and information received from members of the community.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Umar Mohammed Hadejia, psc, MNIM, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and prosecution.
The Kebbi State Police Command urges members of the public to report incidents promptly and continue to support law enforcement efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security across the State.
