The Zamfara state government has mapped out programs towards the celebration of 30th anniversary of the state.Addressing journalists today over the preparation, the secretary to zamfara state government Alhaji Abubakar Na kwada said.
“The anniversary programme will commence tomorrow Thursday 1st October at the Trade Fair Complex, Gusau, followed by the State Banquet Dinner in the evening.
According to him, the activities will continue on 2nd October with the commissioning of the renovated Block C of the J.B. Yakubu Secretariat Complex and the remodeled Malam Sambo Dan-Ashafa Jumu’at Mosque (Yar Dole), to be commissioned by His Eminence The Sultan Of Sokoto, and former zamfara military administration.
The SSG said, on the 3rd of October, there would be a Stakeholders’ Engagement which will comprise all former zamfara governors, their deputies, and all relevant stakeholders.
He lamented that, Zamfara @ 30 is not simply about counting the years; it is about connecting thirty years of history with a renewed trajectory of transformation.He said, the first 27 years laid different layers of the foundation of the State, the last three years have sought to consolidate those foundations, confront accumulated development deficits, strengthen security and public institutions, rebuild human capital, revitalise agriculture, unlock new economic opportunities and accelerate investments capable of repositioning Zamfara for the decades ahead.
“It is particularly symbolic that as Zamfara turns 30, commercial flights will commence into its capital. we are not only celebrating how far Zamfara has come; we are securing our communities, returning farmers to their lands, modernising agriculture, returning children to better schools.
According to Na Kwada, strengthening healthcare, modernising government, opening new gateways, unlocking the value of our natural endowments and creating new possibilities for where Zamfara can go.
” As we honour our past, our greater responsibility is to the future to ensure that the reforms, infrastructure, institutions and investments being established today translate into enduring opportunities and a better quality of life for generations yet unborn.
” Zamfara @ 30 is therefore a celebration of our history, a demonstration of ongoing transformation, and a renewed commitment to building a more secure, food-secure, educated, healthy, connected, productive, inclusive, digitally enabled and prosperous Zamfara for the next 30 years.
“We invite the media, stakeholders and the good people of Zamfara State to participate fully and give these historic activities the coverage they deserve. May Almighty Allah continue to bless Zamfara State and its people” He concluded.
