Zamfara NURTW Attacks  State Fire Service Officials

The Chairman of Zamfara state chapter of National Union Of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwar Daji has today led his members and attacked the Officials of Zamfara state Fire Service injured the Director, Principal Officers, others.

The ugly trend happened as a result of minor misunderstanding between a staff of the Fire Service and the patrolling membesr of the union, and the matter was resolved amicably.

 Few hours later, Hamisu kasuwar Daji came to the Fire Service office with four Vehicles conveying his members carrying dangerous weapons and launched the attack, which left ten personnel injured including the state Director Fire Service.

 Narrating what transpired, the state Director Fire Service Alhaji Abdullahi Jibo Dauran, who was already admitted at Yariman Bakura Hospital Gusau due to injuries he sustained as a result of the attack said," I cannot say exactly what happened, because i was holding meeting with my Directors, i just heard too much noice so i have to cloose the meeting and come out to see what is happening.

" The next thing to see is the NURTW chairman with his members carrying stones, machets and other dangerous weapons attacking my personnel, so i just order my staffs to go back to their offices and  close the gate.

" On the process somebody among them hit my Head  with an object, which left me unconcious, and the remaining of my staffs were either stoned or cut with machets which brought us to the Hospital. He concludes.

Briefing newsmen at Amenity ward of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau, the state commissioner of works Alhaji Rabiu Garba Said government has taken adequate measures to address the issue.

He said, he has already briefed the state Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Nasiha who is also the acting  Governor of the state assured to punish the perpetrators of the deadly act.

He described the act as barbaric, unfortunate as the state government is currently doing it's best to ensure that citizens are enjoying lasting peace across the 

When contacted the police public relation officer SP Muhammad Shehu comfirmed that police are aware of the attacked, similarly the state NURTW chairman Hamisu kasuwar Daji could not be reached, as some sources revealed that he is under police detention.
