Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has charged leaders of the people's democratic party PDP to stay united to realize its bid to win the upcoming 2023 general election at all levels.
Tambuwal stated these at the consultative meetings with chairmen of the 36 state chapters of the PDP at the Sokoto state governors lodge in Abuja.
He said that he has begun consultation preparatory to possible declaration for the presidency contest.
Governor Tambuwal emphasizes that unity of purpose and understanding and working together for us to actually realize the important goal of rescuing Nigeria is very important.
Speaking former governor of Sokoto State Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa told the gathering that he is in Tambuwal for presidentship because “I know personally that he is capable and can do it”.
Bafarawa said Tambuwal will never in life abandon them, noting that had even he knows that Tambuwal will abandon them, he will not be under his umbrella.
On his part chairman of the Kaduna state chapter of the PDP, Hassan Hayat said Tambuwal who doubles as chairman of the PDP governors forum convene the meeting officially to inform them of his intent to vie for the office of the president in 2023.
He called on all aspirants to close Ranks and urged them not to forget that the office of the president will only have a single occupant at any given time.
It could be recalled that on Monday 31st of January 2022 governor Tambuwa join the presidential race and begins consultations.
