Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, has unveiled Dadin Kowa Pharmacy, established by Sheikh Usman Idris, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Sokoto South Constituency I in the Sokoto State House of Assembly.
The pharmacy reflects Sheikh Idris’ commitment to community service and improving access to essential medicines through private sector initiatives. Idris is a religious scholar and entrepreneur.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Senator Tambuwal commended Sheikh Idris, particularly for offering free delivery of medicines purchased from the pharmacy to customers anywhere within Sokoto State.
He described the service as a commendable demonstration of social responsibility, noting that individuals and business owners have important roles to play in supporting their communities and easing the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens.
Tambuwal stressed the need for more people, particularly those with the capacity to make a difference, to embrace initiatives that promote public welfare and provide practical assistance to the less privileged.
The former governor also expressed concern over the prevailing high cost of living in the country, noting that the economic difficulties confronting many Nigerians have made access to essential goods and services increasingly challenging.
He said initiatives such as Sheikh Idris’ free delivery service should be encouraged and emulated, as they demonstrate how individuals can help reduce the burden on citizens through thoughtful, people-oriented interventions.
Senator Tambuwal also called for widespread support for the African Democratic Congress, urging the people to rally behind the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He emphasised the importance of collective participation in the democratic process and encouraged citizens to support the party’s vision and aspirations.
In a related engagement, Senator Tambuwal attended the wedding ceremony of Fatima Ummaru Gyal Gyal, daughter of Alhaji Ummaru Gyal Gyal, and Yusuf Ibrahim Janbuzu, Esq., held in the Fakon Idi area of Sokoto.
