PERL And CSOs Validates, Draft GCE Policy In Jigawa

The permanent secretary then commended the efforts of civil society organizations who were engaged in the draft policy and also appreciates the efforts and support of PERL-FCDO in ensuring the draft GCE policy in Jigawa state and hope to see more for the betterment of the state at large.  In his address,  the director general State Education Inspectorate and Monitoring Unit (SEIMU), Abdullahi Yunusa said the policy is quite right and is very proactive and inclusive in content.

Partnership to reform and learn PERL in collaboration with state and non-state actors have validated the draft Girl Child Education GCE policy for Jigawa State. 

 

The policy is aimed at ensuring that all girls in the state acquire both formal and non formal at the basic and post basic schools levels. 

 
The GCE policy is also aimed to ensure enrollment, retention, transition and completion of the girl child across the state. 
 
The validation session which is organized by PERL-FCDO was held in Kano on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th 2021.
 
On his address,  the commissioner of education science and technology Jigawa State represented by the ministry's permanent Secretary Safiya Muhammad said the draft policy is now ready for implementation. 
 
She said the policy will facilitate girl child education in the state when implemented.

He however said that there is a need to have a structural process of dissemination of the policy to grassroots and other stakeholders to have awareness for sustainability. 
 
The DG says the development process is quite streamline in nature.
