GOVERNOR NASIR IDRIS ATTENDS NORTHERN GOVERNORS, TRADITIONAL RULERS’ EMERGENCY SECURITY MEETING IN KADUNA

Kebbi State Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu on Monday joined his counterparts from across Northern Nigeria and eminent traditional rulers at an extraordinary joint meeting of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and the Northern Traditional Rulers Council in Kaduna to deliberate on critical issues affecting the region, with particular emphasis on security.

The high-level meeting, hosted by the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, is being chaired by the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna State Government House.

The meeting is attended by prominent Northern traditional rulers under the leadership of the Sultan of Sokoto, alongside key federal security officials, including representatives of the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Defence, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Also in attendance are former Inspectors-General of Police, retired senior military, police and paramilitary officers, as well as former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation.

The meeting is focusing on strategies to strengthen regional security, promote economic development, improve education and healthcare, advance agricultural productivity, create employment opportunities for youths, and foster lasting peace, stability and prosperity across Northern Nigeria.

Governor Nasir Idris’ participation underscores Kebbi State Government’s unwavering commitment to working closely with sister states, traditional institutions and the Federal Government to address common security challenges, enhance regional cooperation and promote sustainable development for the benefit of the people of Northern Nigeria.
