Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has announced that he will inaugurate the state APC Campaign Council on Sunday as the party begins preparations for its electioneering campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Governor made this announcement while addressing a large crowd of APC youths who gathered to welcome him on his arrival from Abuja.
visibly impressed by the warm reception and show of solidarity, Governor Idris thanked the youths for standing firmly behind his administration, describing their support as a great source of encouragement.
He assured them that his government would not take their confidence for granted, promising to sustain the execution of projects and programmes that directly impact the lives of the people.
“I am really overwhelmed by the support you have continued to give my administration. I sincerely appreciate your solidarity and encouragement. Let me assure you that this government belongs to the people, and we will continue to work hard to justify the confidence you have placed in us.
“We are not going to slow down. We will continue with the good work we are doing and ensure that our people enjoy even more dividends of democracy,” he said.
Speaking on the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections, the Governor disclosed that the inauguration of the Campaign Council on Sunday would formally set the stage for APC’s electioneering activities across the state.
“God willing, on Sunday, I will inaugurate the Campaign Council. From there, we will begin our campaign activities and take our message to the people, asking for their support and votes for our great party.
“We have a lot to show the people of Kebbi. We will talk about what we have done in road construction, education, healthcare, agriculture, security, workers’ welfare and other important sectors. These are things people can see and feel in their everyday lives.
“We want our people to know what we have achieved, what we are doing and what we still intend to do for the development of our dear state,” the Governor added.
The Governor’s remarks came amid growing political activities within the Kebbi APC as the party prepares to take its achievements to the electorate and mobilise support for the forthcoming elections.
He reiterated that his administration remains focused on improving the living conditions of the people, adding that the support and cooperation of the youths and other stakeholders would continue to inspire the government to do more.
For Governor Idris, the message to the people was clear: the work of development must continue, and the administration remains committed to delivering more tangible benefits to the people of Kebbi State.
The Governor was accompanied by the Director-General of the Campaign Council, His Excellency, Ambassador Saidu Usman Nasamu Dakingari; Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero; State Party Chairman, Muhammad Abubakar Kana; the Secretary of the Campaign Council, Dr. Usman Sani Tunga; Member representing Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bello A. Kaoje; the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida; as well as other top party leaders, government officials and key stakeholders.
