Posters bearing the image of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, have surfaced across major streets in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The posters, branded with the logo of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), carry the inscription: “Amaechi for President 2027 Y Move Nigeria Forward.”
Amaechi, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Kasar Hausa of Daura, previously served as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State, and Minister of Transportation.
The campaign posters were mounted at strategic locations including roundabouts, electric poles, bridges, and signboards across the Bauchi metropolis.
An ADC supporter in Bauchi State, Usman Ibrahim, described Amaechi as a detribalised and exemplary leader capable of uniting the country.
According to him, the posters reflect growing support for Amaechi’s leadership qualities and vision for national unity, stability, equality, and development.
Residents said the posters appeared at several key locations including Ahmadu Bello Way, Awalah Roundabout, Wunti Flyover, Jos Road Roundabout, Bauchi Club area, Nasarawa Gate Roundabout, Emir’s Palace Roundabout, Railway Road, Sabon Titin Karofi, and Kofar Dumi Street, among other areas.
The displays attracted public attention, with motorists and pedestrians slowing down to observe them, particularly around Awalah Roundabout, where traffic movement was briefly affected during the early hours of the day.
Amaechi contested the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress in 2022, where he finished second behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
