APC Governotorial Candidate Empower 500 Farmers In Niger

From Awwal Umar Kontagora, In Minna.

Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago's quest to restore the dignity of Agribusiness in the state was again demonstrated earlier today in his collaboration with the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin Kowa, Gombe State to provide technical capacity building on Agricultural Practices for women and Youth in Niger State at Justice Idris Legbo Kutugi Conference Center, Minna.

The one-day capacity-building program focuses on crop, animal and livestock production and their value chains which had 500 participants drawn from the 25 LGAs of Niger State.
In his remarks, the APC Gubernatorial Flag-bearer for Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Bago reiterated his commitment to the development of Agricultural best practices in the state.
He emphasized the crucial role of women and youth in agricultural development, adding that lack of access to agricultural resources have limited their opportunities and development, thereby contributing to global hunger and poverty. He submitted that empowering women and youth in agriculture must be prioritized at all levels to give our teaming youth and women their place in agriculture.
“It is, therefore, important, given women's crucial role in food production and provision, that any effort towards sustainable food security must address their limited access to productive resources including knowledge of maximizing agricultural value chains.”
