Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has obtained his nomination and expression of interest forms to participate in the forthcoming gubernatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Nasarawa State.
The former police chief obtained the forms on Monday to challenge Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, Governor Abdullahi Sule’s preferred successor, for the party ticket ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Adamu’s campaign Director-General, Barrister Hussein Musa (Shettiman Giza), a legal practitioner, made this known in a statement.
Shettiman Giza congratulated the former police chief for obtaining the forms and assured him of their loyalty to secure victory in the primaries and 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, five gubernatorial aspirants from Nasarawa West have formally withdrawn from the race and endorsed Senator Wadada for the gubernatorial ticket of the ruling party.
Senator Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West in the Nigerian Senate, had served Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, between 2003 and 2011.
