2023: AIG zone 1 assures adequate security during election in Jigawa

The Assistant inspector general of police, zone one Kano AIG. Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, has assured that the zone will provide adequate security during general election in Jigawa state.

Ekpeji made the assurance during his familiarization visit to Jigawa state ahead of 2023 up coming general election on Wednesday.

The AIG. Said he is in Jigawa purposely to check officers and men of the Nigerian police force in the state, saying " police are ready to make sure that everyone follow laws and order across the 27 local government of the state" he said.

He commended the Jigawa state command for ensuring that the state is free from violence and other social vices, assured that the inspector general of police will loaded every state command with vehicle with a view to boost security in Nigeria.

Ekpeji then called on the civilian especially citizens to help security agencies in carrying out security duties, saying " police a lone cannot do everything it selves accept with the help of the general public" he said. 

The AIG visited INEC office and other stakeholders offices to seek collaboration ahead of the general election exercise.

In his speech, the commissioner of police Jigawa state command CP. Emmanuel Effiom Ekot, welcomes the Assistant inspector general of police for his tireless efforts for his entourage to Jigawa state, he said Jigawa state is experiencing inadequate personnel to take care of all the security issues.

" It is strongly believed that Jigawa state is relatively peaceful as crimes and criminalities are at barest minimum. However, there are pockets of Armed Robberies, Abduction, and culpable homicide in some part of the state", He said.

He said he has put in place some proactive crime fighting strategies, " by the grace of God, Jigawa state will continue to be one of the safest states where inhabitants will sleep with their two eyes closed".
