Zungeru Dam: 2 Chinese  Kidnapped 1 Shot, Two Others Killed

Two foreign Chinese Nationals were kidnapped, one other was shot while two of their security guards were also killed when a well armed kidnappers storm the ongoing Zungeru Hydro Electric Power Dam project in Niger state.
The incident which occurred on Tuesday around after four evening at the the project site in Shiroro local government of the state.
It was reliably gathered that the workers were working on the connection of high tension extension from Zungeru Dam to Gusase community.
It was further revealed that the armed men in their numbers storm the place on motorcycles shooting sporadically to scare the people and carryout the mission unchallenged.
Our correspondent was told by an eye witnessed that "we were shocked with the sudden appearance of the armed kidnappers with their very sophisticated weapons, we were confused and don't even know what to do or say".
He added that in the process one of the Chinese worker was shot and two of our internal security guard were gun down and they left with two other Chinese workers, although he said he can't say more than that for now because many people were just running into the bush and can not ascertain their destination at this moment.
However, the Secretary to the Niger State Government SSG, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Matane has confirmed the incident of the kidnapped victims but could not say anything about the number of persons killed in the process.
It was revealed that state government officials consisting of the SSG Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Matane and Commissioner for Local government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal security, Emmanuel Umar with security agents were on the spot assessment as at the time of filing this report.
