A three month long water scarcity that hitted Zamfara state, most especially Gusau the state capital is said to have come to an end, considering the directives given by his exellency the zamfara state governor Dauda Lawal that the management of water board shall do everything possible to restore the water supply, when he paid an unschedule visit to them.
This was disclosed today by the Chief Of Staff of the government Mukhtar Ahmed Lugga, in a chat with newsmen shortly after visiting the state water board.
He said, he wants to bring to the notice of the general public that His Excellency Governor Dauda Lawal is deeply concerned with the perennial water shortage being faced by the people of Gusau and it's environs.
According to him, this has necessitated His Excellency's unscheduled visit to the state water Board facilities, which has given him more insight into the problems bedeviling the issue of water supply to the people of Gusau.
Lugga added that, this is demonstration of His govt commitment, Governor Lawal immediately directed me as a chief of staff government house to liase with the management of the state water Board in order to ensure immediate supply of water to the people of Gusau and it's environs.
"That's why this morning we paid an unscheduled visit to the state water Board to convey His Excellency' s matching order of technical and Financial support to the water Board.
"With this development, the general public is hereby inform that pumping and supply of water to some areas of Gusau will resume today Insha Allah.
"His Excellency the state Governor is soliciting for more patience and prayers from the good people of Zamfara as more efforts are being put in place to ensure temporary and permanent solutions to the problem". Lugga maintained.
