Zamfara State Government Launches Fertilizer Sales To Farmers

The Zamfara State government has today launched the sales of fertilizer to over 2000 farmers accross the State on cash and carry basis.

 
 
Speaking during the formal flagging  off ceremony which took place at the headquarters of Zamfara State Comprehensive Agriculture Revolution Programme (ZACAREP) in Gusau, Governor Bello Matawalle said other farm products  were also procured for farmers in the state. 
 
 
The governor added that, the fertilizer was careful procured to meet with the needs of farmers so as to cultivate more farm produce.
 
He explained that over three thousand tones of fertiliser had been procured to be distributed to over 2000 farmers at subsidised rate to boost food security in the state. 
 
 
Matawalle to this end revealed that government workers would be provided with the same gesture and hectars of land so that  they can join the farmers in the state to burst farming activities.
 
 
Speaking earlier, the special adviser to the Governor on ZACAREP Alhaji Yusuf Jafaru Rawayya said the fertilizer would be sold to farmers at subsidised rate of N15,000 per bag.
 
 
He charged beneficiaries to make good use of the fertilizer procured to them, and anybody found diverting the fertilizer will be arrested and charge to court, adding that the state government has done well to the farmers.
