Zamfara High Court 3 Adjourns Case Alleging Sales Of Intercepted Tractors By State Government

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau.

The Zamfara State High court 3 sitting in Gusau has adjourned till 24th October, 2022 for the continuation of a case that the State government allegedly sold some tractors seized by the court while the case is still in court.

Adjourning the case , the judge presiding over the case, Justice Bello Shinkafi said he adjourned the case following the absence of the defense counsels in the court.

He said that the defense counsels had written to the Court two days ago  signed by the leader of the defense counsels, Barrister Mohammed Sadiq Suleiman, seeking for adjournment.

He said they wrote to the Court considering the fact that they are to attend another Court case in Sokoto.

Speaking earlier, the counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister John Shaka had argued that the application seeking for adjournment lacked merit, saying that the judge should disregard the application.

However, the State commissioner, ministry of Agriculture and Natural resources, name withheld was at the court to fulfil court order  since the alleged tractors were evacuated from ministry.

All efforts made by this medium to hear from the Commissioner probes abortive as he said his lawyer is in good position to brief newsmen on the matter.
