Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has announced that the state government will soon establish an oil mill and plastic processing industries in the state.
The governor said that payment for all equipment has already been effected and will soon be shipped into the Country.
He was speaking when he received in the audience, the state Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mines and Agriculture at the Government House under the leadership of its Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Musa Maibulawus.
Governor Matawalle said the oil processing company will be able to extract oil from groundnut, soya beans and cotton seeds.
Similarly, the plastic company can produce jerry cans, gallons and other assorted plastic materials for commercial and domestic purposes.
He announced further that, upon his last trip to Turkey with some members of the Chamber, a lot of digitally based and simple technology equipment have been surveyed and he urged the Chamber to come up with its report over the visit so that the Government can assist in the establishment of some of these factories in the state.
He called on the Chamber to organise the youth in the state and come up with a workable program that will engage them to be productive and self-reliant and present it to the government for possible implementation.
