Umahi, Tambuwal Visits Zamfara Over Road  Construction Project in The North West 

In its effort to ensure compliance to contractual agreement, Federal Ministry of works has paid a supervisory visit to the ongoing road construction project in the North west zone.

The ministry's entourage under the leadership of its minister, and attended by Senate  chairman committee of the ministry of Housing, also former governor of sokoto state, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal commenced the inspection from Sokoto axis to Zamfara and terminated at Zaria axis.

It could be recalled that,  Federal government has awarded the contract for the road construction from Zaria to Funtua , to sheme to  Gusau and to sokoto last year.

Briefing the minister's entourage while in Zamfara state, Chief engineer and Acting Controller , Federal ministry of works Zamfara state, engineer Kasimu Yusuf and Special  Director works , Engineer Bakari  said the project were  divided  into four phases.

Explaining  further,   said , Zaria to Funtua was categorised as first phase , Funtua to Gusau, second phase, Gusau to Colony Talata mafara second phase while from Colony to sokoto was regarded as fourth phase, saying the works were going smoothly.

The Three hundred and seventy one kilometers road is expected to be completed in forty eight months.

On the issue of quality job, they  expressed confidence on the abilities of the companies handling the project in executing the projects of international standard.

Speaking, the Minister Federal ministry of Works,  Senator David Umahi, said he was impressed with the quality and speediness of the work and  therefore directed the contractors handling the four phases of the projects to keep it up.

According to him,  government would not pay any contractor violated any contractual agreement and also assured  of the president Tinubu's commitment in providing  all the  necessary support and cooperation for the successful completion of the projects

According to him, the projects would help in job creation,  economic prosperity as well as security of the benefitting states.

During the visit, the  minster has  paid a courtesy call on the state governor Dauda Lawan  at government house, Gusau  where he saluted the governor for his commitment  in executing developmental projects in the state.

He also assured of the Federal government's  working synergy with the state government in the execution  of the developmental   projects in the state.

Responding, Governor Dauda praised the Federal government in awarding such contracts in the zone which he described as a welcomed development.

He lauded the Federal government concern in ensuring timely supervision of the projects which he said would help in the execution of the  qualitative  developmental projects .

On the issue of Gusau Dan Sadau road construction  , the governor, solicited Federal government's intervention for the smooth conduct of the  project.
