The women leader of 'Dan Barde Campaign organisation' of Gombe local government area of Gombe state, Hajiya Uwani Hamsal, has asserted that the emergence of Mohammed Barde as the governorship flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is a threat to the re-election bid of the incumbent governor Inuwa Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next year's election.

Uwani who made the assertion in an interview with newsmen said Dan Barde enjoys popularity in the state because of his past philanthropic gestures to the people and his plans for the state.

According to her, Barde's priority is to address poverty, hunger and joblessness among the people of the state calling on her fellow women to rally round him.

She said no campaign by the ruling party can make Inuwa to be returned as governor in 2023 because Mohammed Barde has won the hearts of Gombe people.

"Mohammad Jibrin Dan Barde, is the right person that will win the forthcoming general election because of his acceptance by the people across the state.

"Secondly, APC has nothing to showcase to the electorate during campaign but PDP has so much to show because it executed a lot during its reign.

"If Dan Barde is given the mandate to govern the state, nobody will cry of hunger or poverty again because he has already drafted a work plan to tackle hunger and poverty". She claimed.
