Tambuwal Urges Senate To Discuss National Security, Proffer Solutions

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has advocated that the Tenth Senate dedicate a Special Session to the discussion of Nigeria’s national security as it affects the lives and property of Nigerians.

Senator Tambuwal made the appeal on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.

Tambuwal, who represents Sokoto South noted that the spate of insecurity in the country is not restricted to his home state or the North -West geopolitical zone alone, but to every part of the country.

“… Every state you take and analyze in the country, has one form of security challenge or the other,” he said.

According to him, “this is, perhaps, the most important task that this administration, and of course, the Legislature, should endeavor to undertake, by assuring that we reestablish the security of lives and property in Nigeria.

“It is therefore too important, because we cannot do anything and achieve anything meaningful without development. So, it is important, Mr President, that we take this suggestion seriously; and we find ad dedicate time to the Senate to review the security situation of the country and proffer solutions.

“We have lots of us who are experienced in so many of these matters…insecurity and so many issues. I believe our experience will help support the administration and of course the government in reestablishing security in the country ,” he emphasized.
