Tambuwal Condemns Killing of Hunters in Edo, Calls for Swift Justice

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Sen. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has strongly condemned the killing of hunters in Edo State, describing the incident as "shocking and disheartening."

In a statement released through his handle on X, Tambuwal expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives, extending his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. “My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this deeply painful time. No community should have to bear such a loss under such tragic circumstances,” he said.

Tambuwal stressed the need for urgent and deliberate action, urging security agencies and relevant authorities to launch a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the incident. “This is a moment that calls for firm and deliberate action. Not only must those responsible be brought to justice, but a strong message must be sent that impunity will not be tolerated,” he stated.

He further emphasised the importance of upholding the sanctity of human life and the rule of law. According to him, acts of jungle justice erode public trust and endanger the foundations of democracy.

“As leaders, we have a duty to uphold the sanctity of human life and reinforce the rule of law. Acts of jungle justice erode public trust and threaten the very fabric of our democracy,” the statement read.

Tambuwal concluded with a call for collective action to rebuild public confidence in the justice system, saying, “We must work collectively to restore confidence in our justice system, ensuring that justice is not just promised, but delivered swiftly, fairly, and transparently.”
