Tambuwal Appeals To FG On Retired Officers Entitlements
 
 

 

Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal has appealed to the federal government to continue to pay pensions and gratuities to retired security personnel in good time in order for them to continue to live well while encouraging those in service to give their maximum best in the service of their fatherland.

 

Gov. Tambuwal stated this at the commemoration of the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the Maigero Open Theater in Sokoto on Saturday.

 
According to him, the families of the fallen heroes should be catered for by the government, 
organizations and individuals in order to ensure that their offsprings and spouses do not suffer, particularly in terms of their education and welfare.
 
Tambuwal applauded the military for their sacrifice towards securing the nation and prayed to Allah to forgive the fallen heroes and those they left behind.
 
Prayers were also offered for the repose of the souls of the departed fallen heroes; and for peace, security and unity of the nation. 
 
The event also featured a parade and laying of wreaths in honor of the fallen heroes by the Governor, his Deputy Governor, Hon. Munir Muhammad Dan'iya, Speakerof the state House of Assembly (SOHA), Rt. Hon. Aminu Achida and the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Saidu Sifawa.
 
The GOC 8th Division, Major General U.U. Bassey, the Commissioner of Police Sokoto, Kola Kamaluddeen and other security chiefs as well as the President of the Nigeria Legion Sokoto, Abu Abdullahi among other stakeholders also later wreathed.
