Sokoto to rehabilitate 244 primary Healthcare in the State

Sokoto State Government has awarded contract for the rehabilitation of all the 244 Primary Healthcare Centres in the State.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto announced that at the flag off Campaign of 2025 Seasonal Malaria Chemeprevention held in Achida town, Wurno Local Government Area.
He said the measure was aimed at bringing Health care Services to the door step of the people.
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu therefore, called on all comnunity leaders, Stakeholders and Parents to actively support the exercise by mobilising families and ensuring every eligible child receive the Malaria drugs.
The Governor said as part of efforts to supporting all public health interventions, Government has provided Motorcycles to all Roll Back Malaria officers in the 23 local government areas with a view to conducting the exercise smoothly.
He also said the Malaria Elimination Agency EQA referral centre would be upgraded to serve as one of the best in the country.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir expressed appreciation with the tremendous progress recorded in the health sector in the state.
In his address,the representative of the Sultan and District head of Wurno Alhaji Alhassan Cigari said the programme would go along way in preventing children from Malaria.
He reiterated the commitment of traditional rulers toward supporting any programme aimed at safeguarding the health of the people.
Also commenting,the State Commissioner of Health Dr Faruk Umar Abubakar Wurno said all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the success of the exercise.
