Sokoto L-PRES Conducts Bid Opening for Remodeling of Sokoto Abattoir into a Climate-Smart Modern Facility.

In compliance with World Bank procurement regulations and procedures for project execution, the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) in Sokoto State has conducted a bid opening for the remodeling of the Sokoto Abattoir into a climate-smart modern facility.

The exercise commenced promptly at 12:00 noon at the L-PRES office with the formal opening of the submitted bid documents. 

The event brought together potential bidders from across the country who expressed interest in executing the project.

The bid opening is a key requirement in the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) process.

In his opening remarks, the State Project Coordinator, Sirajo Abubakar, commended the potential bidders for their orderly conduct throughout the process. He explained that, at the conclusion of the evaluation, only one bidder who meets all the necessary requirements will be selected. 

He further emphasized that L-PRES remains open to partnerships with contractors interested in advancing livestock production in Sokoto State.

Delivering his goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development, Sokoto State, Abubakar Mohammed, expressed appreciation to all the bidders who participated in the process.

The Project Procurement Officer, Sanusi Jibril, later presented all the bid documents submitted by the prospective contractors.

It will be recalled that advertisements for the project were placed on 8th July, with a 28-day submission period. At the close of submission, the bid opening and reading session was conducted, providing details of all relevant information submitted by the participating bidders.
