Sokoto Govt. mulls massive youths' employment programme -- Gov. Aliyu
Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State of Sokoto State says his administration will soon launch it's massive empowerment programme for youths in the state.
Gov. Aliyu dropped this hint while receiving the Sokoto APC Youths' Caucus, alongside other youths' associations on a Sallah homage.
Alhaji Aliyu said the decision to introduce the skills acquisition programme is in consideration of the vital role youths play in the socio-economic and political development of the state.
"Youths are said to be the backbone of any society, hence the need to make them gainfully employed.
"We have done it before and we are determined to improve on what we have done during Wamakko's administration," he averred.
The Governor further said that the people of the state have already started feeling the impact of the present administration in many areas of human endeavor.
" We have so far achieved alot in the areas of water supply, environmental sanitation, electricity supply especially in our tertiary institutions, as well in the general welfare of our people," he added.
The Governor assured the people of more dividends of democracy in the years to come.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the delegation, Muntaka Kumasi said that Sokoto is gradually witnessing the direly needed transformation under Gov. Aliyu's watch.
He commended the Governor for taking interest in all issues affecting youths and students in the state.
Muntaka assured the Governor of their unalloyed support at all times.
