Sokoto Donates 14 Vehicles,100 Motorcycles to Security Agencies
The Sokoto State Government has donated 14 vehicles( Hilux brand)and 100 motorcycles to security agencies in the state to enhance their operations. This donation is in addition to the 170 Hilux and 1,000 motorcycles previously donated to them.
The Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Muhammad Bello Sifawa, made the presentation on behalf of Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu during a brief ceremony held at Government House, Sokoto.
Hon Sifawa said the requests for the vehicles and motorcycles were made by the various security agencies during a security state meeting, which the Governor graciously approved.
He expressed hope that the security agencies would utilize the vehicles and motorcycles for their intended purpose, noting that the donation aligns with the state government's nine-point agenda, which prioritizes the security of lives and property.
Speaking on behalf of the Police, Army, Air Force, and DSS, the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, commended the state government for responding to their request promptly. He expressed gratitude to the Governor and the entire government for their unwavering support to security agencies in the state, assuring that the vehicles and motorcycles would be put to good use to enhance security operations.
The Commissioner pledged that the security agencies would continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of lives and property in the state, appreciating the government's support in achieving this goal.
He further promised to ensure that the equipment is properly maintained and utilized effectively to tackle security challenges in Sokoto State.
The police commissioner also appealed to the public to provide relevant information to help tackle banditry and related crimes, urging them to collaborate with security operatives to achieve desired results.
