Senator Tambuwal Hands Over ₦20 Million Financial Support, NEMA Relief Materials to IDPs in Tureta and Bodinga

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has fulfilled his commitment to provide financial assistance and facilitate humanitarian relief for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Tureta and Bodinga Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, following recent security challenges that forced many residents to flee their communities.

Representing the Senator at the distribution exercise, his Special Adviser on Constituency Matters, Hon. Aminu Bala Bodinga, handed over the pledged financial support of ₦10 million to each of the two local government areas, bringing the total cash intervention to ₦20 million.

The exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Sokoto Zonal Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), whose officials supervised the distribution of relief materials to the affected communities.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Aminu Bala Bodinga said the intervention reflects Senator Tambuwal’s unwavering commitment to standing with his constituents during difficult times and ensuring that vulnerable families receive timely support.

In Tureta Local Government Area, the relief items distributed included 400 bags of 25kg rice, 400 bags of 25kg beans, 200 bags of 25kg maize, 400 blankets, 400 rubber mats, 40 cartons of vegetable oil, 40 cartons of tomato paste, 40 cartons of seasoning cubes, and 40 bags of salt.

In Bodinga Local Government Area, beneficiaries received 300 bags of 25kg rice, 300 bags of 25kg maize, 300 bags of 25kg beans, 30 cartons of 5-litre vegetable oil, 30 cartons of seasoning cubes, 30 cartons of tomato paste, and 30 bags of iodised salt.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Senator Tambuwal for fulfilling his promise and for complementing the Federal Government’s humanitarian efforts through NEMA. They also prayed for lasting peace, improved security, and continued prosperity across the affected communities.

Senator Tambuwal reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups, while continuing to advocate lasting solutions to the security challenges affecting communities across Sokoto State.
