NPC Jigawa to recruits over 1000 volunteers for birth registration

The National Population Commission (NPC) Jigawa state office is sets to recruits 1,152 adhoc staff for birth registration exercise in the state.
 
The director NPC in the state Ibrahim Ahmad Iro made the disclosure during two-days state level kick-off operational plans for 2023 birth registration supported by UNICEF kano field office held in Dutse on Monday and Tuesday 15-16th May, 2023.
 
He said the reason behind the recruitment is to ensure that every child get his birth registration certificate.
 
Iro said Jigawa state is left behind with 23 percent of birth and death registration which is not accurate.
 
"Jigawa need more efforts as it's left behind with 23 percent of it's birth registration that is why NPC and UNICEF try to feel the gap" he said.
 
The director added that they will recruit four (4) volunteers par ward which makes the total of 1,152 volunteers. 
 
"Jigawa has 288 wards and 27 local government areas and we are expecting positive results" he said.
 
In his commitment, the chairman Dutse local government also Algon chairman Hon. Bala Usman Chamo promised to support the exercise from his office and the offices of other 26 local government chairmen with a view to meeting the 100 percent coverage of birth and death registration in the state.
 
Also, vice chairman Ringim's local government who attended the event promised to support the exercise process by enlightening the people of his local government and other necessary support.  
 
" There groups of Fulani, farmers and other groups we will enlighten them the importance of birth and death registration so that they will be bringing their children for the registration" he said.
