 No school is owing it a single kobo in respect of its students fees------Sokoto Deputy Governor
 
State Deputy governor Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir announced that while receiving the special Adviser to the president on Students Affairs Hon.Asefon Sunday who paid him a courtesy visit at the Deputy governor's chamber, Government House Sokoto.
 
Alhaji Idris Gobir said so  far,17,476 State indigenes studying in various universities within and outside the country are benefitting from the state's scholarship.
 
He said there was a backlog of unpaid tuition fees of students running into hundreds of millions naira as at the time the current administration took over which resulted in many students facing threat of being sent out of schools.
 
The Deputy governor however said that has now become history as all the tuition fees and other allowances of  National and International students have been settled.
 
Alhaji Idris Gobir further said as part of effort to improve the conducive atmosphere of learning, the State government has recently awarded a contract for the renovation of many secondary and primary schools in the state.
 
The Deputy governor who stood in for Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto assured of government's readiness to continue to give the education sector all the necessary attention it deserves for the overall development of the state.
 
Earlier, the Special Adviser to president on Students Affairs Mr Ashefo Sunday expressed appreciation for Ahmed Aliyu's administration commitment to the education sector.
 
Mr Ashefo particularly praised the government for the settlement of all outstanding tuition fees of state indigenes studying in various universities within and outside the country.
 
He said the state government is aligning itself with the president's agenda in giving youth hope to their future.
