Niger Governor Presents 2023 Budget Proposal Over 238b To The State Assembly 
 

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has presented the 2023 budget proposal of over 238  billion naira to the State House of Assembly for considerations and deliberations.

 
Presenting his last budget estimate at the floor of the house for approval the Governor explained that he has embarked on a series of consultations with relevant stakeholders across three senatorial zones of Niger state to arrive at this estimate.
 
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello said the 2023  budget is higher than twenty twenty two budgets of over two hundred and twenty five billion naira by two point nine six percent.
 
He further said that the twenty twenty three budget estimate is made up of over ninety one billion naira or thirty eight point one one percent of expected total revenue as recurrent expenditure while over one hundred and forty seven billion naira representing sixty one point eight nine percent is proposed for capital expenditure.
 
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello explained that the twenty twenty three budget estimate is aimed at completing projects that are at an advanced stage to increase internal revenue generation, encourage private sector participation in Niger state and maximise the state potentials.
 
The budget he said would also focus on Agriculture Security Infrastructural Development Education Heath Water as well as Sanitation and Hygiene.
 
Others according to him are environmental sustainability investment promotion, women youth and people with special needs among others.
 
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello added that the economic sector in the twenty twenty three budget proposal has the major percentage of capital expenditure by over ninety nine billion naira which represent sixty seven point two one percent of total capital expenditure.
 
Receiving the budget estimate, Speaker Niger state House of Assembly Barrister Abdullahi Bawa Wuse said members will study it carefully with a view to give it an accelerated passage.
