New Kebbi Ultra-Modern Secretariat Takes Off as Workers Resume Duties

The newly constructed Kebbi State Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex, Gwadangaji, commissioned by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, officially commenced full operations on Monday, 2nd March 2026, as civil servants resumed work in the facility.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, and the Head of Service, TPL Malami Muhammad Shekare, led top government officials and workers in relocating to the permanent complex, signaling the full take-off of civil service activities in the new edifice.

The magnificent Secretariat complex was completed by the administration of Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu. Widely regarded as one of the best in Northern Nigeria and among the finest in the country, the facility is designed to accommodate over 25,000 civil servants.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after settling into his office, the SSG expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the Governor the wisdom and determination to successfully deliver the landmark project.

“We thank Allah (SWT) for giving our Governor the wisdom, courage, and ability to complete this edifice. As you can see, this is my office, and all our ministries are accommodated here.

‘ We are indeed grateful for this remarkable achievement,” he said.

‘ On maintenance of the complex, the SSG assured that the government would strengthen existing maintenance culture to preserve the massive investment.

“We already have a maintenance culture, but we will reinvigorate it by encouraging and supporting those responsible for maintaining the facility’, he assured.

According to him, adequate provision will be made for security, catering services, and other essential services to ensure the complex is properly managed,” he added.

In his remarks, the Head of Service, TPL Malami Muhammad Shekare, assured that necessary administrative systems would be fully operational to regulate processes within the Secretariat.

“We will ensure that the system regulating official processes functions effectively, now that the complex has been commissioned.

‘ This edifice will house about 25,000 civil servants. I thank God that our Governor has fulfilled his promise by completing this Secretariat,” he stated.

He called on civil servants to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by demonstrating renewed dedication and punctuality to duty.

Also speaking, Engr. Manir Musa, Chief Executive Officer of MTech Construction Company , the firm that handled the project, expressed excitement over the successful completion of what he described as a gigantic project.

“I am truly excited to have completed this monumental project. It is a great achievement, and I am proud to have been part of it,” he said.

The take-off of activities at the Ultra-Modern Secretariat marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Kebbi State Government to modernize public service infrastructure and enhance administrative efficiency.
