Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ), has mourned the demise of a veteran journalist, Aisha Bello Mustpha of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

A statement signed by the National Secretary of the association, Mrs Wasila Ladan made this known on Monday.

It said that the unfortunate news of the untimely death of Mrs Aisha Bello Mustapha has shocked the Association. 

"This is coming at a time when the Association is in dare need of wise counseling of the living veterans in the media profession, such as late Mustapha, to move our noble Association forward.

"Before her demise, Aisha was duty-bound and discharged her responsibilities as a well known renown broadcaster, with commitment and diligence." The statement said.

However, the statement expressed its  deepest condolences to her immediate family, the NTA family as well as the NaWOJ.

The Association expressed that although it will miss Aisha's great contributions as an ace broadcaster,  yet it is consoled that she has utilized her vast knowledge and experience to the development of Journalism in the country.

The Association prayed for soul of Aisha and her family to have solace over the irreparable loss.

It was reported that Aisha retired from NTA in May 2022 as Assitant Director News, after an extensive national service of 35 years.

She was graduate of Mass Communication/Media Studies from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Aisha's death was announced Monday morning and will be given a funeral prayer at 1pm Monday at the National Mosque.
