The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has asked its member Musa Ibrahim to resume plenary, stating that the vacant seat earlier declared was done in error.
The directive comes eleven days after the Acting Speaker, Abel Bala, declared the seat vacant following a judgement by the Court of Appeal, Abuja, which ordered a rerun in one polling unit of the Doma South Constituency.
During Tuesday’s plenary session, Speaker Danladi Jatau admitted that the declaration of the seat as vacant was made in error.
He clarified that the House had not received any communication preventing. Musa Abubakar Ibrahim, a former Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, from performing his legislative duties.
The house said the seat of Musa Abubakar Ibrahim was declared vacant in error by their Acting Speaker during a sitting on December 1st, 2023.
