NAIRA REDESIGN: WAMAKKO APPEALED FOR CALM

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto has  appealed to the people of the state to remain calm as the National Assembly is doing everything humanly possible to ensure the availability of redesigned Naira Notes and the extension of time to allow every citizen to exchange their old to new Naira notes. 

The Senator was speaking today shortly after returning from Abuja for an official engagement.

 He said: "We are on top of the situation at the National Assembly. We are in talk with the authority concerned to find a lasting solution to the current hardship faced by Nigerians.

"As elected, we have duty to ensure their interest are protected at all cost and we must do this as a we were duly voted for to provide the direly needed dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

'" From President Muhammadu Buhari down to a Councillor, we were all given the mandates by the citizens and we must listen to them."

He, therefore, called on people to remain calm as the National Assembly and other stakeholders are doing everything humanly possible to address the issue of New Naira Notes.

He called on people to be law abiding citizens as very soon, the issue will be resolved amicably.

On the flag off of the state-wide campaign for APC today, the Senator urged party supporters to come out en masse to grace the historic event.

He prayed for the success to the party and all its candidates during the forthcoming polls.

APC is flagging off its campaign today at Wamakko town, Wamakko Local government Area of sokoto state. 

A special prayer was offered by Mallam Bashir Gidan Kanawa for Allah's help towards ensuring the success of the party's affairs and its victory.
