Her Excellency the Wife of the Governor of Sokoto and chairperson Nigeria Governors Wives Forum Dr. Mariya Aminu Waziri Tambuwal led members of the Governors Wives Forum at the Induction of the incoming Governors Wives organized by NGWF which was held today at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
This induction program is designed to provide information to the spouses of the incoming governor regarding how to deal with the activities they will undertake during their tenure in office and beyond.
The first lady of the federal republic of Nigeria Haj Aisha Muhammadu Buhari called on the Incoming Governor's spouses to remember that their first duty is to serve their communities as well as be committed to the development of Nigeria. She further pleaded with them to collaborate despite their differences, which will serve for a better Nigeria.
In his remarks the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors forum and Governor of Sokoto, Rt Hon HE Aminu Waziri Tambuwal says, To the incoming first ladies, today marks the beginning of a memorable journey. I urge you to embrace this opportunity with open hearts and open minds. You have been given a platform to effect change, to uplift communities, and to foster unity. Your unique voices, experiences, and passions will undoubtedly shape the narrative of your time as First Ladies. Use this privilege wisely, for the power of your influence can be transformative.
I would like to reassure you that the Governors Forum is committed to continuing our support to your Forum. We understand that your work is integral to the success of our administrations. We firmly believe in the importance of fostering a strong network and collaboration among our esteemed spouses. Tambuwal concluded.
Other speakers at the event were Dr. Mariya Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Chair Nigeria Governors Wives Forum, Minister of Women and Children Affairs, Representatives from the NDLEA, Department of State Security Service, National Primary Health Care Agency among others.
The event ended with an interaction between the current Governor's wives and the Incoming Governor's spouse's.
