Nigeria's Vice President Kashin Shettima has called on Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to maintain his humility and purposeful leadership for the development of Sokoto State.
He made the while on Sallah homage to the Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu in Government House Sokoto.
Shettima also enjoined the Governor to remain focused and continue with the good work he is doing for the State.
While extolling the good leadership style of the Governor, vice president Shettima urged him to maintain the tempo.
Shettima also stressed the need for unity among northern leaders, which he described as a panacea to achieving a peaceful North.
"We are facing challenges in the North and the only way we can remedy the situation is by uniting ourselves.
" We must understand that there can never be development without peace, "he said.
On the fight against banditry in the North West, the vice president said that efforts were being intensified to tackle the problem.
He restated the Federal Government's readiness to do everything humanly possible to restore peace in the country.
Earlier, Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto commended the Federal Government for introducing measures aimed at putting the country on the right track.
He expressed confidence that the Bola Tinubu-led administration will bring the much needed development in the country.
"President Bola Tinubu's policies are people-friendly and will transform the country,"Aliyu added
