LG Elections: Gamjin Gwandu Foundation donates campaign vehicle, N2m to APC

The Gamjin Gwandu Foundation has boosted the morale of Gwandu Local Government APC with a campaign vehicle and N1.5 million cash for aspirants in the upcoming 2024 local government elections.

This is in addition to N500,000 from the foundation to support logistics towards preparation for the elections in Gwandu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Presenting the campaign support vehicle and cash by Usman Ladan Gwandu, the Co-ordinator of Gamjin Gwandu Foundation in Gwandu, on behalf of the founder of the foundation, Dr Usman Buhari-Ali-Gwandu, Gamjin Gwandu described the kind gesture as commendable.

According to him, Dr. Usman Buhari Ali Gwandu, who is also the Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on International Donor Agencies is presently in Saudi Arabia performing the lesser Hajj after an official assignment he was sent by the Governor of Kebbi state in some European countries.

He said the Special Adviser who officially visited Italy, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, and Poland instructed a 30-man delegate, led by him and Alhaji Umaru Bata, to donate the campaign support.

He said the donor wished the candidates well and assured that he would fully participate in all political activities as the campaign season had already begun.

"The support is to complement efforts of His Excellency Comrade Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, Governor of Kebbi State and Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru Shattiman Manga, the APC State Chairman, in empowering and strengthening the party to victory," he said.

Responding on behalf of the party and the aspirants, the council Chairman and chairmanship aspirant, Alhaji Mahmud A. Mode and Hon. Ahmad Atiku Mandiye, who was represented by the Vice Chairmanship Aspirant, Hon. Abdullahi Muhammad Warari, appreciated the donor for the gesture.

The duo expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Usman Buhari Ali Gwandu for the kind gesture and urged him to sustain the support to the party.

The party chairman recalled that at the onset of APC, Hon. Usman Buhari Ali Gwandu supported the APC with renting and furnishing of office accommodation when the party was in dire need.

They also said that the SA donated vehicle to the party women leader, while some party faithful got motorcycles. 

According to them these are among other efforts he has been making towards uplifting the party officials and the party, apart from empowerment interventions in the local government. 

They also called on party faithfuls to come out and show their support to the government of the day in the forthcoming local government elections by electing all the APC candidates.

They also thanked His Excellency, Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu for his human-face and kind policies, recalling that the governor had distributed free fertilisers, assorted grains as well as construction works in Gwandu LGA and the state at large.

Present at the ceremony were; party officials, the aspiring vice chairman, all the 10 aspiring councilors, delegates of Gamjin Gwandu Foundation as well as numerous well wishers who joined special prayers that were offered for the donor and for successful conduct of the elections.
