KEDCO Lauds Bagudu For Sustain Support To The Company
The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, KEDCO has lauded the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his sustained support to the company towards ensuring adequate electricity supply to people of the State.
The Chairman, Board of Directors, Alhaji Abbas Muhammad Jega made the commendation while on courtesy visit to Governor Bagudu in Birnin Kebbi this Tuesday.
Jega expressed sincere appreciation to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his cooperation and commitment to provision of financial and material support to KEDCO in order to provide stable power supply to Kebbi State .
He told governor Bagudu that top management of the company were on a visit to the state to meet with critical stakeholders to interact and listen to complaints of consumers in order to improve their services.
Alhaji Abbas Muhammad Jega, assured that the new management of KEDCO has resolved to ensuring that justice and better services were maintained in transacting business and be responsive to yearnings and aspirations of customers.
He was also immensely grateful to the governor for providing huge financial assistance to KEDCO to restore electricity to Argungu.
Responding, Kebbi State Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu thanked the board Chairman and top management of KEDCO for the visit.
He said the State Government has expended enormous amount of money to ensuring regular power supply to all parts of the state.
According to the governor, Kebbi State Government recently spent six hundred million naira on the refurbishment of old and faulty electrical equipment, including transformers towards improving and maintaining uninterrupted electricity supply.
The governor emphasized that the Kebbi state government has placed optimum priority on electricity as a necessity for economic development and commended KEDCO for its cooperation to ensure regular supply of electricity across the State.
He averred ' This administration has sponsored twenty-five students for studies on electrical engineering as professional electricians.
' They have since graduated , I hope the company will employ them so as to engage their services ', he begged.
He commended the decision by the top management of the company to visit the State, interact and hold dialogue with stakeholders on matters affecting electricity supply in the State .
Bagudu advised the company to extend such interaction to officials of the state government through the office of the Special Adviser on Power.
He acknowledged the effort of KEDCO on its ongoing sensitization campaign for prompt payment of electricity bills by consumers saying that such a move would ensure regular supply of electricity.
The governor was represented by Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Babale Umar Yauri, min at the occasion.
The Managing Director of KEDCO, Engineer Yusuf Usman Yahaya and other top management staff of the organization accompanied the Board Chairman on the visit.
The Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, Special Adviser on Power, Alhaji Yusuf Haruna Rasheed and Commissioners were part of top Government functionaries at the event.
