Judiciary:Sokoto state government set New committee to monitor criminal justice law

Sokoto state government has inagurated a committee that will  monitor the administration of the criminal justice law  in the state.

Chief judge of Sokoto justice muhammad Sa'eedu Sifawa while inagurating the committee said Sokoto state is one of federated unit in Nigeria that has domesticated the criminal justice act 2015  through the signing into law of the sokoto state ACJF  2019 by governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on the 28 May 2019 to improve the administration of criminals justice in the state.

Justice Sifawa said the inaguaration was necessited by the realization that it is one of the medium through which the objectives of the  ACJF can be achieved as it relates to ensuring that the system of the administration of criminals justice in the state becomes more efficient in terms of the management of the criminal justice institution, speedy administration of justice, protection of the society from  crimes, protection of the rights and the interest of the suspect, defendant and the victims respectively.

He urged  members of the committee to forestall effective implementation of their responsibilities as enshrined under section (469) of the ACJF.
