Jigawa police arrest suspected kidnappers, arm Robberies

The Jigawa state police command has paraded six suspected kidnappers, armed Robberies and drug dealers arrested in different locations of the state.

Exhibits recovered includes, one barret rifle with seven (7) rounds of cartridges, one (1) fabricated revolver pistol, Bows and Arrows, twenty five (25) 5.56mm ammunitions, twenty (20) 7.62 live ammunitions, three (3) empty magazines of different riffles, cutlass and iron bar.

Others are one (1) red Kasea Motorcycles, assorted charms, Techno handset, one (1) Mp3, four hundred (400) pieces of Exol, ninty seven (97) wraps of dried leaves, two (2) robber solution and Sixteen thousand nine hundred naira (M16,900).

Parading the suspects on Tuesday in the command headquarters Dutse, the commissioner of police in the state CP. Emmanuel Effiom Ekot, said the command will not rest in their oars in fishing out criminals disturbing the state.

The CP said following the kidnap incidence of Alhaji Amadu Garba Alias Danmaliki of Kwadabe village Kiyawa local government, by suspected hoodlums to unknown destination, the command intelligent bureau (CIB) acting on credible and actionable information, trailed and succeeded in arresting the suspects.

The suspect were Hamza Adamu 30 years of age from Kazuba Fukani settlement camp, Shehu Shehu 25 years of Ruda Fulani settlement camp, Yusuf Shehu 25 years of age from Baranda, Alias Yellow 29 from Masussuka herders settlement Ming local government area of Bauchi state.

Ekot said on interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to have committed the offence in collaboration with one informer named Idris Lawan a
Alias Lolo 24 years of age from Kwadabe village in Kiyawa local government of Jigawa state who was also trailed and arrested.

He said the suspects were charged to court for prosecution.

Also during a ride by the police men, one Sunusi Muhammad 25 years of age from Gamoji village, Gaya local government of Kano state was arrested with exhibits in his possession that includes 400 pieces of Exol, 97 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be indian hemp, 2 rubber solution, 4 charm and N16,900. 

The commissioner reassured that the police in the state will continue to work round the clock to protect lives and properties of the good people of the state.

He called on the entire people of Jigawa state to continue partnering with the police in fighting against crime.
