Jigawa Governor signs N172bn budget for 2023 into law

Jigawa state Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has signed the state's 2023 budget of over one hundred and seventy billion into law.
The Governor signed the budget on Friday after the State House of Assembly has deliberated and passed it into law.
Speaking to journalists shortly after signing the budget, the Governor expressed his satisfaction on the state’s budget performance in the last seven years of his administration.
He noted that, the 2023 budget was designed to consolidate all the gains made in the last seven years particularly in the area of physical and human capital development.
Badaru said, “The 2023 Jigawa state budget will be used for completing most of the ongoing projects in the state's
"In the last seven years we were able to construct over 1,700 km raods, achieved 95 per cent access to water, improved our GDP with over 100 per cent, built and renovated over 6,000 classrooms.
“Through effective budget implementation to eduction, we are able to improve the sector and the results shown in our students’ WAEC/NECO results increase up from 4.5 per cent to over 60 per cent of those who obtained 5 credits including Mathematics and English,” Badaru added.
The Governor then promised to ensure the people of the state continue to enjoy devidends of democracy throughout his remaining months in office.
