Involving Women and Youth in Politics is the Best Panacea To Nigerian Problems – CITAD
"In its efforts to enlighten the women and youth to participate in the Nigerian politics, the centre has found out that women and youth occupied the largest percentage of Nigerian population and despite their great number, they are not much involved in any decision making process in the country. If there are many women and youth in governance and politics, any decition that will be taken will be representing the whole society's decision," Said Mr. Garba. In his remark, the Kano State chairman of YPP, Salish Salisu Usman, stated that they are very much delighted with this program that CITAD initiated and especially that YPP was involved into it. He said: "The program is very important as it will assist in encouraging women and youth to contest for various positions in the forthcoming general election.

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) reiterated the importance of involving women and youth in Nigerian politics, especially in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.
It stated that the role of women and youth in any alection is not limited to only voting and campaigns; they also have equal right and chance to be elected as party leaders and to even be elected into various offices in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
The chief program officer of the centre, Isa Garba, stated this during visits to Young People Party (YPP) and People Redemption Party (PRP) in their various offices yesterday in Kano State.

"It will also help in the enlightenment of the people against political violence, thuggery and enable them understand the kind of politics that will be useful for them."
Similarly, the Kano State chairman of PRP, Comrade Sammani Sharif Bashir, stated that PRP has agreed to collaborate with CITAD and the party supports the project hundred percent.
He added that, "PRP is giving priority to youth than elderly candidates."
There was success in all the two visits, where all the party leaders happily agreed to collaborate with CITAD in enlightening the women and youth to participate in politics. They also expressed their happiness for being recognized and invited to join the mission where they both promised to write their acceptance letter.
