INSECURITY:Five Months Later, Tambuwal Relaxed Weekly Market Restrictions
The markets was closed five months ago, following the recommendation of the state security council order to forestall violence occasion by bandits attacks in some part of the state.
Tambuwal relax the restrictions while contributing relief materials to the internally displaced person at Tangaza Local Government area on Tuesday.
The reopening of the market is as a result of the improvement on the security in areas affected, Tambuwal said.
"Tambuwal also charged people of the state to be vigilant and security conscious at all time while running their businesses, and daily activities and aslo report any suspicious behavior of criminals to the security agencies.
"He however assured that the state government will not relent it's efforts in taking various majors at protecting the lives and properties of the people.
It could be recalled that sokoto state government restricted the weekly market activities on Wednesday September 1st 2021 as part of majors to avert security challenges in the state.
The governor had earlier suspended the sale of cattle across markets, and sale of fuel in Jerry cans as part of efforts to curtail insecurity.
Other state like zamfara, Kaduna, katsina and niger had announced similar measures to address the issues of banditry and other related criminals activities.
Meanwhile, the governor has again reittreated that the state government resolved on the banning of the activities of Yan Sakai, noting that anybody who want to contribute in ensuring security in the state should join vigilante groups which is recommended and lawfully recognize by the state government and security agencies.
